NodeDistro Repair
Customer Agreement

Terms and Conditions & Repair Policy

These terms govern mail-in and in-shop repair services arranged through NodeDistro Repair at repair.nodedistro.com. By creating an account, submitting a repair request, paying online, approving diagnostics, or shipping a device to us, you agree to the policy below.

Effective Date July 7, 2026
Service Area Canada — mail-in intake, bench repair, and return shipping
Applies To Portal bookings, Stripe payments, shipping labels, diagnostics, repair, and return handling

1. Authorization to Inspect and Repair

You authorize NodeDistro Repair and its technicians to receive, inspect, diagnose, test, and repair the device described in your intake. You confirm that you are the owner of the device or have permission from the owner to request service.

2. Mail-in Repair Process

Mail-in repairs are managed through the customer portal. The standard workflow is:

  • You submit a repair intake with device details, symptoms, and your ship-from address.
  • You select an inbound carrier rate and pay for inbound shipping online.
  • You receive inbound tracking in the customer portal. Our shop prepares and prints the inbound carrier label.
  • You securely package and ship the device when instructed.
  • We receive, diagnose, and perform approved repair work.
  • When repair is complete, we issue a repair invoice for parts and return shipping.
  • After you pay the repair invoice, your device is shipped back to you. Return tracking is available in the portal; return carrier labels are prepared by our shop.

We may pause or decline service if intake information is incomplete, the device cannot be tested, payment is not received, or the repair is not economically or technically feasible.

3. Online Payments and Invoicing

Eligible charges are collected through Stripe Checkout on repair.nodedistro.com. Depending on your repair stage, you may be asked to pay for:

  • Inbound shipping — the carrier label to send your device to our bench.
  • Repair invoice — approved repair parts, labor where quoted, and return shipping to your address.

Displayed totals, carrier names, and line items shown in the portal at checkout are the amounts you authorize at payment. Taxes, currency, and final invoice details may vary based on parts availability, diagnosis results, and the return shipping rate selected for your ticket.

Payment must be received before we release return shipping labels or ship a completed repair back to you, unless we agree in writing to a different arrangement. Failed, reversed, or disputed payments may delay release of your device.

Refunds, where offered, are limited to the specific charge and service affected. Shipping labels that have already been purchased or used may not be refundable.

4. Diagnostic Findings and Estimates

Initial repair information, turnaround times, shipping quotes, and part pricing are estimates only. A final diagnosis may reveal additional damage, liquid exposure, board-level faults, prior repair issues, or unavailable parts that affect the final repair scope, timing, or price.

If the required repair differs materially from what was originally described, we will update your ticket and repair invoice before asking you to pay for additional work or return shipping.

5. Data Backup Responsibility

You are responsible for backing up all data before shipping or dropping off your device. While we aim to preserve customer data whenever possible, repair procedures may require component replacement, software restoration, reset, or testing that could result in data loss.

6. Passcodes, Activation Locks, and Security Features

You remain responsible for removing or managing security restrictions that prevent authorized diagnostics or testing, including passcodes, account locks, activation locks, MDM restrictions, and device pairing restrictions. Devices that cannot be tested due to locks may be returned without full verification of repair success.

7. Shipping and Transit Risk

When you pay for inbound or return shipping through our portal, we attach the selected rate and shipment details to your intake. Carrier labels for inbound and return shipments are prepared by our repair shop. You are responsible for securely packaging the device before handoff to the carrier. Transit delays, carrier scanning gaps, weather events, customs issues, and delivery exceptions are outside our direct control.

  • Use adequate padding and rigid packaging.
  • Remove cases, loose accessories, and SIM or memory cards unless we request otherwise.
  • Do not include unrelated valuables in the shipment.
  • Keep tracking numbers and shipment confirmations for your records.

Return shipments are arranged after repair-invoice payment. Until that payment clears, we may hold the device at the bench.

8. Repair Outcomes and Limitations

Some devices cannot be fully repaired because of severe board damage, unavailable parts, prior repair complications, manufacturer restrictions, or intermittent faults that do not reproduce during bench testing. We do not guarantee that every device is repairable.

9. Replaced Parts and Cosmetic Condition

Repair work may involve new, refurbished, reclaimed, or functionally equivalent replacement parts depending on availability and the repair plan offered to you. Pre-existing cosmetic wear, frame bends, cracks, stripped screws, prior adhesive damage, or water indicators may limit the quality or durability of a repair result.

10. Customer-Supplied Information

You agree to provide accurate contact, device, symptom, and shipping information. We may rely on the email address, phone number, and physical address you provide in the portal for repair updates, shipping coordination, payment prompts, and return delivery.

11. Storage, Abandonment, and Unclaimed Devices

After we notify you that a repair is complete, declined, or awaiting payment or action, you must respond within a reasonable period. Devices left unpaid, unclaimed, or without response for an extended period may be treated as abandoned subject to applicable law and any storage or handling charges disclosed to you.

12. Warranty and Return Issues

If a specific repair includes a limited workmanship warranty, it applies only to the repaired issue and not to unrelated faults, accidental damage, liquid exposure, physical abuse, software tampering, or post-repair impact damage. Warranty review may require the device to be returned for inspection before any remedy is offered.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NodeDistro Repair is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost data, lost profits, business interruption, sentimental value, or delays caused by parts supply or carriers. Our direct liability is limited to the amount paid for the affected repair service unless a different limit is required by law.

14. Consent to Electronic Communication

You consent to receive repair updates, shipping notifications, payment prompts, label links, and service communications by email and through the customer portal. These communications may include links to status pages, labels, invoices, and return-shipping actions.

15. Policy Updates

We may update these terms and this repair policy from time to time. The version posted at the time you submit an intake will apply to that repair request unless a later version is required by law or expressly accepted by you.

Customer acknowledgement

By checking the agreement box during repair intake submission, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms, understand the repair and payment steps described above, and authorize NodeDistro Repair to proceed with intake, diagnostic handling, and carrier label generation for your device.
